Once again Pope Leo XIV has rejected idea of Anthropic that Claude has a soul. He went one step ahead and called to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
Imagine you have to actually lobby Church to prove that your little shity black box built with stolen data from book authors, web, forums. wiki, code repos, artists as a super intelligence with soul. Lmao. Anthropic and all tech bros are super evil. I wonder what's their end goal as they are going so crazy with their AI psychosis idea 🤔
@nixCraft the end game is to outsource all human thinking and creativity to a subscription and eventually, surge pricing. Like Amazon Prime or Uber, but for the enterprise. 😬
@nixCraft The tech fascists won't stop this bullshit that their new tools have agency. I'm seeing this as a mass societal psychosis perpetuated by criminal sociopathic lunatics.
@nixCraft Isn't he supposed to put a (tm) after that "Spark of Humanity" woo?
It's too bad he conflates ideological, social, and technical concerns. I remain skeptical about how much he understands either neuroscience or computer science / AI architecture.
@nixCraft Yeah, yeah, yeah. Go on then, you Catholic's shits, carry on pretending you care about the hot topic of the moment, AI. Just to take the focus off the fact that your priests and your schools are full of jackals who abuse and sodomise children. Fuckin bloody hypocrites.
@nixCraft Thousands of years from now, there will be a fable told of a long ago people who designed a machine to impersonate a human being, and the first ones they decieved were themselves. And I'd think that even if I'd never read Frank Herbert or Carl Sagan.
I don't believe in a literal soul, but I still find the proposal by Anthropic utterly revolting. Mostly because it cheapens and commodifies such a profound concept to the human experience and our history.
To try and claim a product has the same innate value as an actual conscious being.
Without some very hard work, that LLM literally forgets anything sent to it.
Oops, the standard in LLM APIs is literally that the clients have to resend the whole conversation on every turn. And if you are lucky the API might have part of the conversation already calculated and cached from a previous call.
Guess the KV cache would be the place where the soul lives?
@nixCraft the teleology of AI seems straightforwardly to be to use non-renewable resources faster. More of everything, all the time, on a finite world.
